How it works

At Michael’s Way, we believe that dreams of higher education should always be within reach. Even when faced with the challenges of a cancer diagnosis, we are here to support families in pursuing a brighter future. In partnership with Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education, we will provide full 4-year scholarships to 2 deserving students. Along with tuition support, scholars receive personalized guidance to help them find the college that’s the best fit for them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What if my file is too big to upload?
A: Contact our Director, Ashley Thompson, at athompson@michaelsway.org, and we’ll help you submit your documents.
Q: Will the scholarship cover all college expenses?
A: The scholarship covers tuition only. Books, supplies, transportation, and personal expenses are the responsibility of the student. Completing the FAFSA is required to determine eligibility for additional financial aid.
Q: Why is the scholarship only for high school juniors?
A: We focus on high school juniors to ensure students have enough time to navigate the college application process with our advisory team. This gives them the best chance to prepare and apply to their top-choice schools.
Q: What happens if I don’t maintain my GPA?
A: Scholars are required to maintain a 2.5 GPA minimum and annual check-in with the advisory team to keep their scholarship intact.
Q: Can I apply if I’m not planning to attend a partner school?*
A: Unfortunately, this scholarship is only available for students enrolling in our partner colleges listed above.
